In / Loving / Memory / Of / Lance Corpl. / James Casey / 9th Y&L / the beloved son of / John Thomas & Fanny Casey / of Stainbro / who fell in action / in France / Oct 9th 1917 aged 24 years / Thy will be done / Also the above named Fanny Casey / who died August 29th 1937 aged 66 years / At rest.

James Casey is also remembered on the Silkstone All Saints (originally Stainborough St James) Memorial Plaque he is also remembered on the Hood Green War Memorial Hood Green Rd Hood Green and on the Stainborough, Wentworth Castle Roll of Honour

James Casey is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission  website.
