In / Loving Memory / of / Israel Scargill / born April 12th 1846 / died October 14th 1907 / also Harry Scargill / Sergeant 13th Batt. Y&L regt. / the beloved son of the above / who was killed in action in France / July 1st 1916, aged 29 years / Greater love that no man than this / also Elizabeth / widow of the above named / Israel Scargill / who died June 16th 1932 / aged 83 years.



Harry is also remembered on the Memorial Plaque at St George's Church Barnsley which has been demolished.

Harry Scargill is interred at Euston Road Cemetery Colin Camps and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
