In Loving memory of /Pte. George William Heptinstall R.S.F, The beloved son of George and Alice Heptinstall who died from wounds, received in action in France July 3rd 1916, aged 20 years / "Greater love hath no man than this" / also their daughter Violet who died Jan. 30th 1920, in her 3rd year  also of the above named Alice Heptinstall who died Feb. 24th 1939, aged 64 years / "At Rest" / also the above named George Heptinstall who died June 13th, 1946 aged 73 years / "Re-united"

George William Heptinstall is also remembered at St. Peter's Church, Doncaster Road,  Barnsley and is interred at Corbie Communal Cemetery Extension, France and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
