In / Loving Memory / of / Pte Willie Smith 1/5th KOYLI / son of William & Emma Smith / of Worsbro Dale / who was killed in action at / Neuve Eglise Belgium /  April 13th 1918 aged 23 years /  also / Pte Horace Smith 4th Res Y & L / son of William & Hannah Smith / who died in Cannock Chase / Military Hospital June 29th 1918 / aged 21 years / R.I.P.  / also the above named / William Smith, J.P. / who died July 17th 1937 / aged 77 years / also Hannah wife of the / above William Smith / who died June 19th 1957 aged 90 years.


Willie and Horace are also remembered on the Combined Memorial at St Thomas & St James, Worsbrough Dale.

Willie is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website

Horace is buried in this grave in Worsborough (which means that it is not a war memorial for him) and is commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
