Barnsley Cemetery Edwin and Tom Bower

There are five members of the Bower family remembered on the edging stones on this family graveplot including brothers,Tom and Edwin Bower who were killed in action in France.

Grave Location and Inscription:

In Loving Memory of / Thomas the beloved husband of Ellen Bower / who died April 12th 1930 aged 69 years.
Also Ellen, the dearly loved wife of the aforesaid /who died March 13th 1939 aged 75 years / Reunited.
Also Private Edwin Bower, their son / killed in Action July 1st 1916 aged 30 years/
Also Private Tom Bower, their son / Killed in Action Sept 10th 1918 aged 22 years.
Also Walter Bower, their grandson /who died Feb 17th 1934 / aged 22 years.

Edwin and Thomas Bower are remembered on the Dodworth War Memorial (Junction of Green Rd and High Street)

Edwin Bower is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.

Thomas (Tom) Bower is remembered on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial and commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
